Adult Class: Painting Fundamentals and Materials
Instructor: Peter Balestrieri
4 Monday Mornings, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
March 12, 19, April 10, 17 (2 Weeks off in middle due to local school's spring break)
Ages: Adult Class
An introductory, engaging approach to oil and watercolor painting, which includes:
*Stretcher and panel support construction
*Stretching of canvas, rag and/or mulberry paper
*Sizing with glue or gesso
*Preparing canvas and/or paper
*Grinding and mixing with oil mediums and dry color pigment
*Explanation of various varnishes and oils for their pictoral effects and drying time
*Transparent glazing and opaque impasto technique to render value and textural effects
*Under-painting technique with drawing design and composition planning for final painting
FEE: $150 Materials included, talent and interest supplied by the student.

Intro to Acrylics I

Cost: $75 (Materials Included)
This is a two-class intro to painting with acrylic. Students will experiment with acrylic’s transparent & opaque properties. We will be creating layers, spraying, dropping & allowing the paint to run. Wear old clothes. It will be a fun, no pressure class. Student grade materials provided for use. Bring humor.

Intro to Art: Students will be creating four different projects during this introduction to art four week class taught by local artist Mary Ellen Murphy. Students must come prepared for fun, creativity and a little bit of messiness. Space is limited.

All About Aromatherapy Workshop

$11 includes worksheets, brochures and oil sample of your choice, sample oils will also be available for sale after the workshop .
Learn the history of essential oils, how to use them for your personal healthcare, how to use them in your home and how to use them for your pets. Discover different kinds of oils and how they’re made and have fun creating your own simple blend to take home.
